191 Unit Building Proposed for South Kensington

On September 10, 2013

Blackstone Development and Harman Deutsch Architects have revised their plan for a large scale development project at Germantown Ave. and Thomson St. in South Kensington.

50 units were removed from the original plan after neighbors raised concern over the density of the project.  The new plan now includes 191 units and 153 underground parking spaces.  The developers are looking into incorporating solar energy and sustainable building materials and finishes into the design. The design also features a “plaza” area for common use by residents.

This is the largest project Blackstone has done in Philadelphia.  They are currently in the middle of a 73 unit residential project near Temple University.
