Vue32 Adds New Housing Options for Powelton Village
Vue32 is a new apartment tower in the Powelton Village neighborhood, facing the Center City skyline. This new apartment tower is located next to the Drexel University campus, but is meant for workers and graduate students, and undergraduates students are prohibited from living there. Vue32 is leasing now and residents are starting to move in. It was developed by Radnor Property Group.
Vue32 is a total of sixteen stories tall. It has a two-story day care and nursery school run by Chesterbrook Academy on the ground levels and fourteen floors with 164 rental apartments, for professionals and graduate students, above. It has a sleek design, with large windows allowing for great views and metal panels. The tower has been designed by Erdy McHenry Architects. Twelve modern townhouses will eventually be built, and for sale, along Summer Street. Inside the apartment building are several amenities for the residents, including a fitness center, two business conference rooms, and a “genius bar” with MACs and a printer. A large patio, facing 32nd Street, will have outdoor seating and will be used for outdoor markets and food trucks along the street. The roof has a roof deck, with lounge seating and grills and a small kitchen inside for preparing food. There are 61 parking spaces, largely below ground.
The apartments will have laminate floors, GE stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, Bosch washers and dryers, sliding industrial doors for some bedrooms, “gear walls” by the front doors for people’s stuff, and optional kitchen islands. Junior one-bedroom units will rent for $1,700 to $1,860 per month, one-bedroom units will rent from $1,900 to $2,000 per month, two-bedroom units will rent from $2,460 to $3,800 per month, and the only three-bedroom unit will rent for $5,100 per month. Some units will be furnished for an additional $300 to $600 per month.
Vue32 helps diversify the housing options in University City and adds a necessary day care and nursery school to Powelton. It, also, continues development for 31st Street, next to the big rail yard which may be developed with highrises itself someday. Vue32 adds a sleek addition to the growing University City skyline.
